Red Lipstick Favourites

This post fills me with excitement because I love red lipsticks. Fun and bright pigments that instantly jazz up the simplest of makeup looks.  Today I am sharing some of my favourites…

1. MAC  Matte Lipstick in Lady Danger

This is the most orange-y based colour in the mix which makes it unique and definitely one for spring/summer . A beautiful bright colour that has great longevity, yet because it is matte it’s slightly drying however it does makes your teeth look whiter though! This colour is a great one if you have a lighter skin tone.

2. YSL Rouge Pur Couture

The most luxurious of them all, this is a gorgeous true bright red. The formula is really comfortable on the lips and maintains glossy hydration throughout the day. It also contains SPF 15 which is a plus.

3. MAC Matte Lipstick in Russian Red

This was the first red lipstick that I owned and what a great one to start with. This is a blue toned red so would be great for darker skin tones. The matte formula of this lipstick makes it quite drying but I love it for the fact it doesn’t budge, even when eating.

4. Maybelline Color Sensational Fatal Red 530

If you are looking for a true red, this is beyond the best one. The formula is amazing, it is smooth and creamy on the lips and has major staying power. This is my go to red and possibly my favourite out of the bunch.

5. Revlon Colour Burst Matte Balm in Audacious

I love crayon lipsticks because I find them super easier to apply. At first I was disappointed when I purchased this one because the packaging suggests it is more of a burnt red colour, however the actual colour is more of a true red.  I do really like the product, it is really comfortable on the lips as the name would suggest in ‘balm’  but it’s not that matte which I actually quite like. Something to note is that it does have quite a strong minty scent so if you aren’t a fan of fragranced products then stay away.
